Merriam Webster defines Self-Esteem as confidence and satisfaction in oneself. Self-Respect. We usually think of self-esteem in terms of high and low. High self esteem may equate to self-conceit, arrogance, vanity. While low self-esteem is similar to self- condemnation, self-degradation, and an overall negative outlook on your self, your abilities and your position with others.

Developing a healthy self-esteem can be done in a number of ways. Some of the key methods are increasing the focus on positive attributes/traits to increase awareness and acceptance of oneself, identifying and challenging negative core beliefs, and setting boundaries by saying no to what is unhealthy and yes to what is healthy.
